The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), the Managing Director/CEO, Chief Samuel Ogbuku said he have always maintained that technology remains one of the most powerful tools for transforming the Niger Delta and unlocking the immense potential of our youths. For this reason, the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) continues to support initiatives that promote innovation, digital skills acquisition, and entrepreneurship among young people across the region.
At the two-day Technology Conference and Exhibition organised by TechNexus Limited in partnership with the NDDC at the EUI Event Centre in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, I encouraged our youths to take ownership of their future by leveraging platforms such as the Tech Expo to acquire relevant skills, embrace innovation, and build sustainable careers in the digital economy.
The Port Harcourt Tech Expo was conceived as a platform to bring together innovators, entrepreneurs, technology enthusiasts, and industry leaders to explore emerging technologies and chart a course towards a more prosperous, competitive, and technologically advanced Niger Delta.
The active participation of the NDDC in this initiative underscores our commitment to building a digitally empowered generation and advancing our vision of inclusive, technology-driven development across the region. As a Commission, we remain committed to collaborating with relevant organisations, institutions, and stakeholders to create opportunities that promote youth empowerment, digital literacy, innovation, and technological advancement.
Speaking on “Syntropy,” being the theme of the expo for this year, I reminded participants that the future belongs to those who prepare for it. While government has a responsibility to provide an enabling environment for growth and success, it is ultimately the responsibility of young people to seize available opportunities and position themselves for excellence.
The NDDC has consistently demonstrated its commitment to advancing technology and innovation in the Niger Delta, recognising their critical role in driving economic growth, creating employment opportunities, and fostering sustainable development.
