The Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to the Authority Chief Executive Mallam Rabiu Abdullahi Umar, at the Authority’s Headquarters in Abuja.
The visit provided an opportunity for both organisations to reaffirm their shared commitment to strengthening collaboration in advancing Nigeria’s midstream and downstream petroleum sector in line with the provisions of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) 2021.
During the meeting, the two leaders held productive discussions on issues of mutual interest, including enhancing regulatory efficiency, ensuring energy security, promoting investment across the petroleum value chain, improving operational synergies, and supporting the Federal Government’s objectives of increasing domestic energy availability and driving sustainable economic growth.
Mallam Umar welcomed the NNPC Ltd. GCEO and his delegation, emphasizing the Authority’s commitment to maintaining a transparent, predictable, and investment-friendly regulatory environment. He noted that sustained collaboration between NMDPRA and NNPC Ltd. remains critical to achieving national energy security, expanding gas utilisation, and ensuring the efficient development of Nigeria’s petroleum resources.
Speaking during the visit, Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari commended the Authority for its regulatory leadership and reaffirmed NNPC Ltd.’s commitment to working closely with NMDPRA to deepen reforms, enhance operational excellence, and deliver greater value to Nigerians.
The courtesy visit underscores the strong institutional relationship between NMDPRA and NNPC Ltd. and reinforces their collective resolve to foster a resilient, competitive, and sustainable petroleum industry that supports Nigeria’s long-term economic development.
