The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt, Professor Chike Princewill, on Monday, August 3, 2026, received a delegation from Our Saviour’s Chapel Interdenominational, led by the Chaplain, Reverend Dr. Ume Okorie, on a courtesy visit to his office.
Welcoming the delegation, Professor Princewill expressed appreciation for the visit and acknowledged the important role of the Church in promoting spiritual growth, moral values and peaceful coexistence within the University community.
The Vice-Chancellor stated that his administration would continue to uphold the values of integrity, accountability and inclusiveness in the discharge of its responsibilities. He called for the continued prayers and support of the Chapel, noting that the task of leading a great institution such as the University of Port Harcourt requires divine wisdom, unity and the collective commitment of all stakeholders.
Professor Princewill reaffirmed his resolve to provide purposeful leadership that would strengthen the University’s core mandates of teaching, research and community service, while fostering an environment where excellence can thrive.
Earlier, the Chaplain of Our Saviour’s (Interdenominational) Chapel, Reverend Dr. Ume Okorie, congratulated Professor Princewill on his appointment as Vice-Chancellor and assured him of the Chapel’s prayers and unwavering support. He prayed for God’s wisdom, strength and guidance upon the Vice-Chancellor as he leads the University to greater heights.
